At the November 16th 2016 Fire Board meeting, Firefighter/EMT Richard LaRue was officially promoted to Fire Captain and presented with his red fire helmet and badge.  Captain LaRue’s wife Kristen and family were on hand to pin his badge.  Congratulations to Rich and his family!

Mayer Fire recently received a grant through the Gila River Indian Community in the amount of $74,740 to replace 3 heart monitors.  FF/CEP Mike Pearson was instrumental in the grant writing process.  We are honored to accept this grant and the communities we so proudly serve will benefit from this equipment.

Fire Chief Eric Kriwer, Captain Jason LaGreca, and Engineer Brian Simington were present to accept the check from the Yavapai County Board of Supervisors.

Members of the Yavapai Sheriffs Department as well as the Mayer Area Meals on Wheels honored our local firefighters with an award ceremony as well as lunch. Kudos to Assistant Chief Michael McGhee and Firefighter/EMT Steve Quintero for a job well done!

Mayer Firefighters participated again in the annual Cordes Lakes Days celebration.  Crews promoted fire safety, answered questions of the community and even demonstrated vehicle extrication techniques cutting apart two vehicles.

Effective 8:00 AM, Monday, August 1, 2016, Yavapai County will lift fire restrictions for all of Yavapai County. Yavapai County has received significant moisture, and fire conditions have moderated significantly across the various Fire Ban Zones. Forecast indicates continued and increasing moisture for Yavapai County. Fire Bans are jurisdictional and each fire district may set the limits of their fire ban or stage restrictions. Please check with your fire district prior to burning, and exercise caution while burning.

Mayer Fire crews have been extremely busy with lightning ignited wildfires and vehicle accidents related to the active seasonal monsoon weather.  Please be cautious while driving on wet roadways and do not cross areas of standing or flowing water.
